Kukui Nut Orgeat
An orgeat is a syrup typically made from almonds and orange flower water. In this twist on a traditional orgeat, I used roasted Kukui nuts, which is Hawaii’s state nut and a culturally significant canoe plant known for its oils which can be lit and used as a torch. Kukui nuts have an oily, nutty flavor similar to macadamia nuts which is showcased in this syrup and pairs beautifully with invasive orange jessamine blossom water.
*Consuming Kukui nuts may improve digestive and immune health, as well as treat inflammation.
